About The Teacher, Miss Becky Price
Rebecca Price, B.A. in Violin Performance
“Miss Becky” Price is an experienced, professional and devoted musician and teacher. She has studied and performed music for over 50 years. In 1997 she became founder and teacher for Becky’s Violin Studio, and has taught violin, fiddle and beginning cello for over 20 years. Previously to this studio she has taught professionally at select music stores, public schools, City of San Bernardino recreation programs for DD children and teens and for City of Yucaipa Scherer Center Seniors Violin Class.
She was a member of Redlands Community Orchestra for 5 years, where she participated as Principal Second Violinist for 2+ years and then played in the first violin section.
She and her students perform regularly at studio recitals, called “Play Parties”. The advanced group has performed regularly at Golden Meadows and at Braswell´s Meditaranean Gardens. Rebecca is a freelance performer and has performed at the Highland Springs Resort, ART productions, churches, the civil war reenactments, birthdays, memorial services, weddings and even for proposals. etc.. She was concert mistress for the Yucaipa String Orchestra for three years. She has played professionally as an orchestral member in the Redlands Symphony, San Bernardino Symphony, Inland Empire Symphony, Redlands Chamber Orchestra and Redlands Bowl Orchestras. In addition to playing professionally she played in the American Youth Symphony, a Los Angeles based training orchestra then directed by Mehli Mehta (father of Zubin Mehta) She was also a private student of Mr. Mehta. More orchestral conductors she worked under were Aaron Copland and James Guthrie. She played in the The Chicago Symphony’s training orchestra Chicago Youth Orchestra under the direction of legendary conductor of the Chicago Symphony Sir Georg Solti.
In 1981 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Violin Performance, with a Minor in the Humanities, from Johnston College at the University of Redlands.
She has recorded her CD entitled “Rebecca Price, Just Fiddlin’ Around which is available to purchase. Call/text Rebecca at (909) 790-1613 to purchase one. The music featured ranges from Scottish, Irish fiddle tunes, American Bluegrass and classical music of Vivaldi, Brahms, and Massenet. She recorded on Jeff Brent’s CD “7”.
